The position is primarily responsible for the repair of amplifiers, upconverters, downconverters, LNB’s, switches, and other electronic equipment used in our networks.

Main Responsibilities

  • The repair of amplifiers, converters, LNB’s
  • RF equipment used in various Telesat networks including RF switching controllers
  • Test equipment in Thermal Chambers to determine equipment stability in all types of environments
  • Repairing equipment for 3rd party customers
  • Provide support to the annual HPA maintenance at APK

Education & Experience Required

  • 3 Year Electronics Technology Diploma from a Community College specializing in Electronics Telecommunications, or equivalent education
  • Past experience repairing Solid State amplifier equipment would be an asset

Equipment Used

  • Analyzers, signal generators, meters, oscillators and various other electronic test equipment
  • Computer

Decision Making & Supervision

  • Person will be required to evaluate equipment and determine appropriate repair action
  • Make appropriate decisions on repairing vs replacing equipment
  • The successful candidate will be assigned to a senior tech during a training period
  • Required to work independently with minimal supervision
