Leadership Team

Stefano Taucer serves as Telesat’s Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and leads enterprise-wide legal, governance, and compliance functions and advises the company and its Board of Directors on critical legal and strategic matters. Stefano is also responsible for the company’s procurement and export control teams.

Stefano is a highly accomplished legal executive with deep experience advising global, publicly traded companies in complex, highly regulated industries.

Prior to Telesat, he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer at OraSure Technologies. Previously, Stefano held a leadership role with a global communications technology company after having held in-house positions at two of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies. He began his career in private practice at a multi-national law.  

Stefano earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queen’s University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa.
