OTTAWA, CANADA, February 11, 2014 – Telesat, Canada’s premier satellite operator, strongly supports the Government of Canada’s announcement today of $305 million in new funding to extend and enhance broadband access for Canadians living in rural and remote communities, including in the North. The Government’s action will create economic opportunities for rural and Northern Canadians by stimulating innovation, improving productivity and enhancing access to information and markets.
