Telesat Announces Executive Leadership Appointments

Telesat, one of the world’s largest and most innovative satellite operators, today announced the appointment of industry leader Glenn Katz as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In addition, Tom Eaton, previously Telesat’s Vice President of International Sales, is moving to the role of President of Telesat Government Solutions – a US-incorporated, wholly-owned subsidiary of Telesat.

Telesat Selects Ciena for Low Earth Orbit Terrestrial Network Technology

VER, Md., U.S.A. – October 12, 2021 – Telesat, one of the world’s largest and most innovative satellite operators, is deploying Routing and Switching platforms from Ciena (NYSE: CIEN) for its Telesat Lightspeed terrestrial backhaul network. Ciena’s advanced routing and switching technology will ensure that Telesat has a modern, cost-effective network that takes advantage of emerging technologies including network functions virtualization (NFV) and edge computing to efficiently support both existing and future customer requirements.

NSSLGlobal and Telesat Announce Strategic Co-operation Agreement for Telesat Lightspeed LEO Network

NSSLGlobal, a leading independent service provider of satellite communications to the government and maritime industry and Telesat, one of the world’s largest and most innovative satellite operators, have today signed a long-term strategic co-operation agreement to collaborate on the commercial and technical aspects of Telesat’s new Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation, Telesat Lightspeed, initially consisting of a global mesh network of 298 state-of the-art LEO satellites that are seamlessly integrated with on-ground data networks.  Telesat Lightspeed will be the world’s most advanced LEO network, optimized to serve the critical connectivity requirements of enterprise, government and mobility customers.

Telesat Reports Results for the Quarter Ended March 31, 2021

OTTAWA, CANADA, May 14, 2021 – Telesat today announced its financial results for the three-month period ended March 31, 2021. All amounts are in Canadian dollars and reported under International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) unless otherwise noted.
