The Project Coordinator, LEO Network Operations plays a key role in supporting the execution and coordination of operational initiatives across the Lightspeed network. Working closely with the NOC, Customer Support Centre (CSC), and cross-functional engineering and IT teams, this role ensures that projects supporting network performance, service assurance, and operational readiness are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with strong communication skills and a passion for enabling mission-critical operations in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination: Assist in the development and maintenance of integrated project plans for network operations initiatives, including scope, timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate activities related to incident management, change management, preventative maintenance, and performance monitoring projects across the LEO network.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (NOC, Engineering, IT, PMO) and external vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and execution.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, risk logs, change requests, and health dashboards. Ensure documentation is updated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Executive & Team Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular project status reports and dashboards for senior leadership, summarizing progress, risks, and recommendations.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Support identification, tracking, and mitigation of project risks and blockers. Assist in developing contingency plans and escalating issues as needed.
  • Resource & Budget Tracking: Monitor resource allocation and project budgets, ensuring efficient use of personnel and financial resources.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of operational workflows and project delivery methodologies, including agile, hybrid, and waterfall approaches.

Education and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination or scheduling, ideally in network operations, satellite systems, or telecommunications.
  • Familiarity with 24/7 operational environments and service delivery frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of network topologies, satellite ground systems, and service assurance tools.
  • Proficiency in project management platforms such as Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding of ITIL, SDLC, and agile methodologies is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Bilingual (English and French) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including stakeholder-facing reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Working Conditions:

  • On site based in Gatineau QC, temporarily in Ottawa ON.
  • Occasional travel to national or international facilities may be required.
  • Availability for occasional overtime or on-call support during critical project phases. At times, some Shifted workdays or shift work may be required.
